More Fun With Flat Pat

As you can see, Flat Pat is quite popular! Here he is with all of us, ready to make new friends. It didn't take long before a PAT PROJECT took shape. Here are some of our fine artists painting a purple and pink house for Pat to sleep in while he is with us. Beds, puppies, pillows, and other pets arrived to keep him company, too. A block structure was designed for Pat and friends to play together in, and finally, Pat was transported to the library where he met Mr. Jennings, and politely listened to a story.

Presenting...FLAT PAT!

Flat Pat traveled by US MAIL from Philadelhia, Pa., to Narragansett, RI., early last week. He traveled very light, as he arrived with only a slim journal. We have been asked to care for him for one week, and then return him to his place of origin. While he is with us we have been asked to document what he does, and where he goes, through pictures, and stories. Some of Flat Pat's happy moments with Jack, Ariana, and one very helpful mom, are documented with our class pumpkin. Here he is ready to taste some roasted pumpkin seeds with Ashley, and Lily. Later on, he enjoyed lunch with Mac and Luke. On October 31st, we will be taking Pat to a giant pumpkin patch filled with scarecrows! Stay tuned...

We Buddy Up With Bulbs! (click here)

Our 4th grade "buddies" helped us with a fall planting project! As part of an internet project that we are working on together, we planted special tulip "bulbs" in a raised "bed" outside Ms. Ward's class! How many "b" words is that?

Charts are Us!

Kinders love to write and read "Predictable Charts." Writing one is a natural follow up to reading a predictable book, (one that follows a specific language pattern). In this case, we are spelling names, and recording what each child likes. Sight words are introduced, beginnings and endings of a sentence are identified, and a voice to print match becomes established. Here is what each child had to say...
